Bug Report OBS won't open the first time

http://unshapedadrian.co.uk/downloads/obs64a.dmp.zip

Same as @JeronimoColon no cef processes hanging around before I start in fact this happens after I have just powered on my machine so there shouldn't be anything OBS related hanging around at all.

In this scenario I waited for a little while before taking the .dmp file. I had a quick look and it seems that there are lots of threads and many have similar call stacks but I'm not sure if that helps. I also included two log files one from the failed attempt and one from the second successful attempt (marked success :-))

I've taken up figuring out why this bug happens, but compiling CEF takes a little bit of time. For those experiencing this bug, please try the linked new obs-browser build in the mantis issue. It updates CEF to 2924 and also includes some debug symbols so I can actually see what the memory layout is.

I get an error when using the plugins from the mantis bug:

obs64.exe - Entry Point Not Found
---------------------------
The procedure entry point ?SwapBuffersWithDamageEXT@egl@@YAIPEAX0PEAHH@Z could not be located in the dynamic link library C:\Program Files (x86)\obs-studio\obs-plugins\64bit\libEGL.dll.

I do however get an orphaned obs64.exe, the dump is here: http://unshapedadrian.co.uk/downloads/obs64xaymar.zip

I've had it too(even fresh starting up computer) since 0.16 version I just kept silent, well always now I just have open task manager before opening obs to kill the process when it happens lol 2nd time obs works.

I like how my c920 webcam lets me know if it happens too, i click obs if no blue light on webcam it failed, if blue light turns on then obs will start

------------------

Using the 2924 CEF
it gives error or not locating something in - "C:\Program Files (x86)\obs-studio\obs-plugins\64bit\libEGL.dll"
--- woops, Adrian above posted the exact error

I had 2 other accounts logged in on my computer when i got this problem. I signed out from those accounts and then OBS was working again. Hope this is helpful.

I hate to resurrect this thread but I am still having this same issue in version: OBS 17.0.2-ftl.31
I'm not sure of what next steps I need to take to follow this through and report it, etc.

The FTL version of OBS is not maintained by OBS. Please talk to Beam about that, and make sure they are building it with the latest version of the Browser source.

Closing the loop on this: the fix will be release in 17.0.1.

It wasn't fixed and we're on version 18.0 :\

I just wanted to add another count to this issue, and say that I've been going through this exact issue since an OBS update last year as well. The only difference is, mine never works after a second or third restart and task manager kill. I just can't use it for entire windows sessions.

I've only been able to use it a few times within the last few months because of this, and my stream freezes up now. Also, I cannot reinstall in the same folder to fix the issue. I have to create OBS(1), OBS(2), OBS(3) folders for every release install. My computer works fine for all other programs.

I am having this same problem, v25.0.8. Reboot and it will come up normally, once. After that, doesn't matter if I kill the process, it won't start up visible again (and is not in tool tray). Any suggestions?
