yeah and one more.
Can I skip adding new VLC sources to my current OBS profile and just make a brand new one with VLC to test it there? Or do I gotta fully replace the old sources by deleting em and adding VLC instead?
So, do I gotta stick with VLC sources long-term? Or can I switch back to default ones later on? Cuz I'm planning to reinstall Windows soon anyway.

heh I keep mentioning this but you are skipping ahead. I know you are just asking questions but you are getting ahead of yourself. Right now you just need to test with media sources out of the equation, doing this in your current solution would be the smarter way to go about this are at least duplicating the collection and doing it there. When you are trying to find the source of an issue, making a bunch of huge changes (creating an entirely new collection to test in) doesn't really give you the info you want.
