Master 2-Bus Audio Channel / fader

I've been using OBS Music Edition which has a master fader. I have 100% control over the loudness of my streams. I can apply a limiter to get my streams up to YouTube's loudness requirements without overloading. Please add this to OBS because OBS Music Edition is no longer being update and the latest version it uses is 27.

Unfortunately, I don't see OBS's audio changing at all anytime soon. It's a mess under the hood, and to use, and not really maintainable.

The devs know this, and so they're in the process of figuring out what to replace it with, and not try to fix the present mess. That's harder than it seems too, because of so many different uses that all need something different...and they absolutely do NOT have the time and resources to make it do everything natively!

One of the ideas they've mentioned, and I really like, is for OBS proper to be pretty stupid with audio, and have most of what it does in a large plugin instead. Ship a default plugin that does the same as what it does now, so that existing rigs don't break, but expect the community to come up with a zoo of much better ones for different uses.

Until that happens, or whatever they come up with, I would not expect any changes at all in OBS's audio. In the meantime, use an external tool, like a DAW or physical console, to do ALL of your audio work, and feed its result into OBS as its only audio source at all, to pass through completely unchanged.

Hello!
Me, I need an audio-master channel with the capability of loading audio- Mastering-Plugins, too.

How do you make an Work around with a DAW for this? I've used VST Plugins to route audio to Reaper.fm DAW and back. But there is a time-lack around 500 milliseconds. That's too much and it does not seem to work stable enough.

Any better suggestions?

is it possible to write an OBS Plugin for adding an audio-master Channel? Is there such a plug-in already out there somewhere?
Best Regards!

You don't route out of OBS and back in again. You connect everything *directly to the DAW*, so that OBS never sees it at all, and only pipe the final result from the DAW to OBS.

That still has a risk of adding a lot of latency between apps, which is more Winblows' fault than anything else. I think it's far more likely to find a way to bypass the OS processing (and delay) from DAW to OBS, than to try and make OBS do anything beyond a dumb passthrough of the final result from something else.

All I know of immediately is this one:
I don't use it myself, but it looks like a possibility at least. It connects to VoiceMeeter, which is a very pared-down "DAW-Lite", if you will.
Two different sizes of the same thing.

Being very pared-down, VM doesn't have all of the features that are really needed to do *everything* in it, and so you'll probably end up with a mess of different processing in different apps because none of them have a complete set. I did when I used it with OBS. I use Ubuntu Studio Linux now, which comes with OBS and a full-blown DAW that really does do EVERYTHING, both preinstalled and already working, and it's a LOT nicer!
I still had to make the connection, but the tools for that are preinstalled too.
