What's the problem with my PC?

I have a Lenovo Laptop with a Intel Core I5-11300H and a NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3050 (Laptop) with 8GB RAM DDR4 with a Windows 11 and when I open OBS and start playing a game, the game starts lagging every time and I don't know why. When I close OBS, the game's FPS start rising up again. In the past, I've has worse laptops and even on them, the games didn't lag so much when OBS was open. Does anyone have any idea on how to solve my issue?

RTX 3050 supports NVENC so the first thing I would do is be sure that is enabled. (File >> Settings >> Output >> Encoder.) You could also compare performance using the Software (x264) encoder on various presets. (Start with ultrafast and increase if possible.)

If none of that solves the problem, open Task Manager and check your resource consumption while the problem is happening, to see where the bottleneck is.
