I just reset some of my plugins and had to reinstall the websocket plugin, i installed the latest versions but seem to be getting an error

Is this happening due to the new OBS 30.0 version? Should I install a legacy websocket plugin? thanks!

"Web Socket" is an integral part of OBS 29 and 30 (probably earlier versions as well) and does not need an additional plugin to function.

Thank you, I did delete all obs plugin related to websocket and did the check for file integrity and all good now.
@ShyKlown Go to your obs-studio folder, the obs plugins folder and delete the websocket plugin there. Then you can check for file integrity and it will update OBS with the integrated web socket that is part of OBS 29 and 30.

I tried that and it still doesn’t work, I’m trying to use it to reconnect my DisplayPad, and I keep getting a failed connection error “saying make sure websocket is installed and credentials are correct” which they are, I’ve reached out to the maker of the DisplayPad and it works fine for them, so it is something on my end, I’m tried to complete uninstall everything and reinstall but nothing has worked. I was OBS had an actual help line/chat

The websocket functionality for 5.x websocket is integrated in obs. Installing a plugin to try to add it is going to actively break the functionality.

Uninstall any websocket plugins you may have installed, then repair your installation of obs using help - check file integrity.

disculpa, pudiste resolverlo?

I’m having a problem with this plugin, I have already formatted the PC and did not solve. Mark (check enabled) the option Enable WebSocket Server and when closing OBS Studio does not save the configuration and password of the server is automatically reset. How to solve this problem?
  • WebSocket server is not selected (checked enabled) as active

The problem solves just by re-installing OBS Studio, just make sure to save the JSON file of the scenes that you want to save, that's it.

Not solved. The problem persists even after I format the machine and start from scratch. And it’s only on this machine. I believe that I have tried almost everything. And nothing solved. I’m using the latest version of OBS Studio. I can’t find a solution. See below what I have tried and did not solve:
  1. Check for updates: Make sure you're using the latest version of OBS Studio and the WebSocket plugin.
  2. Verify file integrity: In OBS Studio, go to "Help" and select "Check File Integrity." This can fix configuration issues.
  3. Uninstall old plugins: If you have older WebSocket plugins installed, uninstall them and see if the problem persists.
  4. Startup settings: Try adding OBS Studio to the startup list to ensure it loads all settings correctly.
  5. Firewall settings: Ensure the Windows firewall isn't blocking the WebSocket plugin.

Enable WebSocket Server
I can't keep a certain option fixed in the "OBS Studio" program. I've tried various solutions, even formatting the computer, but nothing solved the issue. I use "Windows 11" and the latest version of "OBS Studio". However, when I access the "OBS Studio" program and go to tools to configure the "WebSocket Server Settings" option, and on the next screen in "Plugin Settings" I check the "Enable WebSocket Server" option, after turning off the computer and using "OBS Studio" again, this option is unchecked. I have to check it every time I use the program, and this is a problem. How can I solve it to ensure this option remains always checked/activated?

I have the same issue but it resets different settings, in my case the ip and password are reset EVERY. TIME. Were you able to fix it? I've been struggling with this for a good 2/3 months now inconclusively
