VHS to MP4: Nedis USB Audio / Video Grabber

I'm trying to convert from VHS to MP4 (using EXT 1 / AV 1 port), but can't figure out what's the issue here. I have followed these instructions: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=G2CIEE8kjSU

What am I doing wrong here?

The problem is that I can't get the VHS image to appear in the OBS software, so presumably OBS doesn't recognize the video source/signal. We're using a capture device called Nevis.

Will it be sufficient to directly route the video from the VHS player to the OBS software, or does the VHS video need to be mirrored first, for example, on a television, from which the capture is taken with the Nevis device?

A capture device appears as monitor for connected VHS devices, so yes, just connect the capture device instead of the TV or monitor.
