USB1820 external sound card

Hi everyone! I've come to ask for a little help because I'm really tired...

I would like to make some lives with my drum. I have an external sound card UMC1820 which is plugged in usb on my pc.

When I go to the sound settings on my PC, in recording I have my microphone with my UMC1820 card as the peripheral, which receives the signal.

On obs I add a source by setting my sound card UMC1820 as peripheral but obs receives nothing from it.

Does anyone have an idea? Thanks in advance!

Even if you do make it work, you probably won't be happy with it.

OBS can't choose specific channels of a multi-channel interface. It absolutely insists that every device is one single source, and multi-channel MUST be pre-mastered surround sound. So it takes your 8 inputs as 7.1 surround, downmixes that to stereo or whatever you've set OBS for, and THEN gives you that mashed-together mess of live mics to try and make something of.

Fixing that, has been on my wishlist too for a long time, but it looks like it's not going to happen until OBS's audio is completely gutted and rewritten...which the devs are indeed looking at, but it's still early in that process.

Anyway, to do multi-channel audio, you need something *other* than OBS. Physical console or DAW. Do *all* of your audio work in there, and send the completely finished soundtrack to OBS as its only audio source at all, to pass through unchanged.
