I don't touch audio settings in OBS (see attached file) between updates, but I've had a long-standing issue where, at seemingly random, OBS will take my microphone (Blue Yeti: in the attached file it reads Voicemod, and I have tried with just my microphone source too) input and turn it into a 'crunchy' and volume-peaked with or without filters (noise gate, compressor and limiter). I have done streams where it's smooth and clear as in other applications (Audacity, Discord, Voicemod, in-game recorders, etc), but there'll be times before or after updates where it takes the quality and crunches it up for no apparent reason that I've been able to find.
My cables have not changed and I have tested with different USB ports, along with changing input and volume gain higher or lower with no difference to the crunchiness. I can't pin down when this happens and why, and how it managed to 'fix' itself on some nights. OBS is the only application I use where this issue comes up.
