Remove black bars from Minecraft without stretching

I have black bars on my Minecraft recordings because I play in windowed mode, and when I use "Stretch to Screen" it looks a tiny bit weird.
The only solution I found was going into full screen but I don't usually play in full screen.

Change your Canvas and Output size to what you're actually getting from the game. Settings -> Video

Then you might still have the bars on playback, because the recorded video doesn't fit the screen. But at least they're not in the file anymore.

We need to know what you use for editing software.
I use Shotcut. Once the video is in the timeline, go to the Filters panel, add a Size, Position, and Rotate Filter.
