Regarding my green screen and the distance behind me it should be

Hi everyone,
I just bought a collapsible green screen and just wanted to find out how far behind me should i have it cause im in a tight space sorta and the screen is like about 6-8 inches right behind my chair where i sit at my computer. I have the whole screen covering up the entire webcam view of obs studio and im not sure if it's supposed to b like that or not. If someone could please get back to me with any info on the distance it should b behind me itd b great thanks again.

Sincerely,
Adam

The distance should be far enough behind so you don't throw shadows on the screen from the talent's lighting. Also far enough so green light reflected off the screen doesn't illuminate the edges of the talent. If you can't get it far enough behind, then use 2 lights of nearly equal brightness located on each side of and slightly above the camera. Being above the camera, shadows will be cast onto the green screen behind and below the talent. Having one on each side will fill shadows cast from the other. If this causes too much shadow under your nose and chin, use another dimmer light from below the camera to fill those shadows.

I hope they work good for you. Remember the purpose of two lights is so they each fill in any shadows cast on the green screen by the other.

Hi khaver,
It’s adam again good afternoon I got ur reply just now and I’ll work them to c how it goes. Like I said before I have very little space in back of my chair where I sit so I don’t know about moving to make more space behind me.
