Hello!
So, to get you inside the problem, let me introduce myself, and my setup:
I am a Live Streamer, transmitting to Twitch, who uses 2 computers:
- Desktop Computer with Windows10 to play games - using NDI inside OBS 28, and transmitting as a simple OUTPUT;
- MacBookPro M1Max64GB to transmit to Twitch, with OBS_28.1.2 (M1, or Silicon, or Arm version), that receives NDI with NDI5 sources (actually, audio is received with Audio_Input_Capture Source - and I have to use NDI Virtual Input to capture that NDI sound in another source, because there's a huge problem with NDI5 plugin source - that's other problem but OBS-NDI plugin is working on it, but basically the audio on that plugin is distorting in one of the stereo channels).
Both computers are connected to router wired, with CAT6 cables.
WHAT IS THE PROBLEM?
Connection to twitch sometimes stops.
WHAT HAPPENS WHEN THE PROBLEM OCCURS?
It's strange, but every time the OBS stops transmitting (going to "RED" the little square on bottom right part of the OBS window, and kbps goes to 0), the computer MacBookPro that is transmitting, don't have access to internet.
The router simply "crashes" that LAN port, and only that, because Desktop, gaming computer, continues with access to the internet. Even if I restart MacBookPro, the connection to internet via that LAN port is broken.
So, I have to turn off and on router, and then everything is ok again and I can start streaming again.
WHAT I FOUND?
I am almost sure that this only happened while I was transmitting a NDI source from Desktop to MacbookPro (for example, while playing a game and transmitting it thought my local network to the other computer).
I am not 100% sure, but I think it was only on those situations.
WHAT I THINK IT IS?
Most of the times It happens while I think I'm having Wifi activity in other equipment, like someone in my house using internet to see Netflix or something. But I'm really not sure it's that.
Also, when I'm transmitting a game through Desktop to MacBookPro, I can see on Windows task manager, that there's a huge mass of data transmitting out via Windows OBS, of course. But that was never a problem, actually, as I always did this, and most of the times this works ok and transmission don't fail.
So maybe Is because of my Internet Provider. I only have 100mb of upload. But well, as I said already, I think this only occurred while receiving gaming data from NDI.
WHAT IS WEIRD?
It's weird that I Live stream for like 5 months, and the problem started for like a month or two.
Maybe it was when I installed, finally, OBS 28 in MacBookPro (because OBS28 have support for Apple Silicon processors, but OBS-NDI plugin was not implemented 1 or 2 months ago, in those OBS versions).
