Question / Help Prevent Studio Mode from selecting previous scene when you switch scenes?

The default behavior of Studio Mode is that when you transition/cut to a different scene, the previous scene is automatically selected in the Preview pane. I presume this is to allow for easy flip-flopping between two scenes... but I never (ever) want to do that. Is there any way to suppress that behavior so the scene I transition/cut to remains selected? It can get very confusing while live streaming and switching through a progression of similar-looking scenes.

Click on the cog next to the transition button and uncheck "Swap Previous/Output scenes after transitioning":

I can't seem to get any transitions to work, and thought that the sources list in a scene were just for layering priority, not for time. But reading here it seems that the sources list can be used for transitioning in time? I'd appreciate any guidance on where to look for this. Thanks!

By the way I've been using OBS Scene Queue to bump through my scene stack. It does require Java and a jar file running over OBS but it does work. https://obsproject.com/forum/threads/obs-scene-queue.122858/#post-467153
