Poor Still Image Quality When Recording

Hey everyone, self-admitted OBS amateur here learning my way around the software and could use some help:

I'm having trouble with still image sources I'm trying to include in a screen - the image quality of that file, whether jpg, png, gif, etc - appears pixelated and blurry when recorded, while the rest of the screen remains fine. Strangely, It looks crystal clear when I set it up in studio mode, but when I play back a recording, it looks quite poor. I use Gimp to create my images, and I'm amateur on that front as well, but I know enough to make sure the image resolution is high, etc. At this point, I can only assume there's something wrong with how I'm exporting the files. Any help/tips on this front would be greatly appreciated, thanks!

Hey did you ever figure this out? I'm going through the same thing. Tried playing around with exporting my png and overlays but nothing. It looks perfect when imported and looking at OBS the program but the recording always seems to have lost quality.
