Hi everyone,
Would be super appreciative if anyone can help me diagnose an issue. I did a recording for a corporate client. The recording is VERY choppy during parts of the video where there is motion. We set up three cameras and a separate laptop for powerpoint (two PTZ and one mirrorless camera that went into a Blackmagic Studio Pro switcher that then went into a an ELGATO HD60S capture card.
This issue has never happened to me before in my three years of using OBS. Essentially, I was using OBS virtual camera and OBS recording at the same time. I was not streaming with OBS.
I was also using Microsoft Teams. The image sent into teams and OBS was from the Elgato Capture card. The capture card works across two software at once. The stream itself on teams appeared very smooth so I did not think the recording would have any issues and looking at OBS, the video showing looked fine. The recording did take about 5 minutes to save in OBS and the "stopping recording" image was stuck for a while before changing back to "Start recording."
I have attached the log file.
Here are all the details of machine and settings:
Computer specs:
AMD Ryzen 5900HX with Radeon Graphics
64GB DDR4 3200 RAM
NVDIA GeoForce RTX 3080 Laptop GPU
OBS Settings (also attached as photos)
Version: 30.0.2
Resolution: 1920 x 1080p
Output resolution: 1280x720p
59.94 FPS recording
x.264
6000 kbps
CBR
Wondering if the issue was utilizing the CPU instead of NVDIA NVENC? I'm not sure. Would be glad to provide more info if needed.
Any assistance would be SUPER HELPFUL. Thank you!
