OBS Black Screen when recording??

Hello! I am new to using OBS and I looked up some tutorials on how to use obs. I pretty much used them to only change my bit rate so I have less lag and more fps. For some reason no matter what encoder I use, I get a black screen when recording. Everything runs the same except the black screen. Can someone PLEASE help me?

My system specs:
Intel i5-10300h
16gb DDR4
Intel UHD Graphics
NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1650 TI

Laptop? Black screen when capturing? Read here first.

Depending on your Windows version and what sources you wish to use, you may need to set OBS to run on a specific GPU. Not sure which Windows version you have? Press Windows+R and run "winver". For Windows 10 1909 or newer: Open Settings and search for "Graphics Settings". Select "Classic App"...

same issue here, are you on Windows 10 version 2004 by chance? and does capture window work properly?

Yes, I am on Windows 10 version 2004. Capture window works properly. I can't do display capture which is what I need. I also used the auto config wizard for OBS and that didn't fix my problem.
