Question / Help No desktop audio

I've been having a good time figuring out all the features of the software (there's so much, it's great). Got my chroma key and camera all ready. But when I started a stream/recording, there was no desktop audio being recorded. At first, neither was my mic, but I figured that out. Still haven't been able to get my game/computer audio to record (nothing shows up in the meter except my mic). I've tried every output option. I don't have dedicated speakers, so I use my headset, but even though I hear everything through them, nothing is getting picked up by OBS. Do I need to have actual speakers for this to work?

I'm guessing this is your issue/fix:

strange, but i suppose a windows update broke it.
FIX for anyone else that gets this problem:
turn windows sonic (7.1) on
apply changes
turn windows sonic (7.1) off.
