TLDR/Questions can be found at the bottom.
Hey guys. Encountered a problem trying to edit with adobe premier using my local recordings ive been making of my streams. Apparently, there is a sync issue when you work with files that have a variable frame rate. I can convert the files but with the file sizes i have its kind of an issue and i dont wanna have to deal with this. I probably will have to though.
I poked around and discovered a post regarding how to set OBS to use CFR and apparently its used by default? So it sounds like the issue might be because i like to use display capture when possible over game capture in my scenes. I do sometimes notice my fps dip below 60 when im playing a game that isnt properly optimized or when my gpu gets pinned. I normally try lowing my bitrate or doing other things to lessen the load on my computer.
The reason i want to use display capture is that i like to be able to show my desktop, drag different programs onto my captured display so people can see things. I also dont like the idea of using window capture for showing chrome when i always have multiple chrome windows open.
Does obs default to CFR except for when it cant?
Is there a way to force CFR in obs even with dropped frames?
Does anyone have a solution for my problem with wanting to use display capture but not wanting to have it impact my wanting CFR?
Would creating a separate scene that i only use when i wanna show my desktop solve this issue?
Or will that display capture always be running in the background causing this issue?
