My obs looks bad compared to the game I am trying to record

I 've been trying to record a game but after I finish the recording and go ahead and look at the result, it looks very bad and fuzzy and pixely idk. Can anyone help me?

btw should i start by just recording to another format or can i record to something and then convert to mp4?

For high-quality, no fuss recordings, use the recording quality presets.


1) Under Settings > Output, set the mode to Simple output.
2) In the recording section, change the Recording Quality to Indistinguishable Quality
3) Select your encoder. We recommend a hardware encoder if it is available.

And save to MKV not mp4.
