Issue with version 30.0.2 Video flips vertically

I’m encountering a problem with OBS version 30.0.2 on my Mac. During the setup of a live recording, specifically when configuring the video capture device, the preview and live feed are both flipping upside down. I’ve tried resetting my settings to default, but the issue persists every time I restart the application. Reverting to version 29 eliminates the problem entirely, suggesting an issue specific to the newer version. As a temporary workaround, I can manually flip the video orientation, but this fix does not persist after closing and reopening OBS, which is inconvenient for my weekly live streams for our church across various platforms. Could this issue be replicated and addressed in a future update? For now, I’ll continue using version 29 until a solution is available.

Same problem with latest version 30.1.1. Apparently the problem shows up with external cameras, not with built-in 'FaceTime' cameras. With the deprecated source it works correctly, at least in my case..

Same issue.

I first installed the last version 29 on Mac Pro 2019.

OBS almost never shutdown properly. I would get the safe mode/run normally option at startup 80% of the time. Randomly the external cameras would be upside down.

When I did the update to version 30, OBS started shutting down properly and starting up normally. But I’m still experiencing several upside down external cameras ant startup. It’s easily fixed with the vertical flip transform option. But it’s annoying.

Any suggestions would be awesome.

I have the same issue, on version 30.2.2 and Insta 360 link camera on a mac (intel and M1 processors). It also happens on the facetime HD camera, built in the computer.
I can flip the source, but after close OBS and using it again, the video source comes back to the flipped position.

It's Dec 22, 2024. Does anyone have a solution? I am tech support for a husband who has questions and I'm a wife who has no answers. I just go in and fix until the next time.

Same issue, on OBS 31.0.0 running on an M1 Mac Studio with the latest OS (Sequoia 15.2). One camera USUALLY flips upside down (and backwards horizontally) each time I quit OBS and then re-open it. It is one of four Insta360 Links. All have the latest firmware. No problem with the other three. And I have tried the camera in different USB ports (A & C) in the Mac Studio, and also through a Thunderbolt hub. Also happens regardless if the "Insta360 Link Controller" software is turned on before or after opening OBS. I say the one camera is USUALLY upside down because occasionally the camera is NOT flipped when I open OBS. Moreover, if it is flipped I can sometimes fix it simply by closing then re-opening OBS, thereby not having to muck around with the Transform settings for that camera. Hope this helps.

Setup: MacStudio M2, Studio Display, internal CAM and Cams connected with the Atem Mini Pro. I have the same problems. Sometimes it works, sometimes not or better the cams are flipped. I checked the internal voltage and the system report had no differences between need and usage. I checked a real simple setup with only one cam and surprise, same problems. Yes, it is possible to work with this but - and this make me really sad - I have 100% no problems when I use the same setup at my Gaming laptop ASUS ROG Strix Ryzan... so it is a MacOS issue. Hopefully someday it will be fixed :-)

Problem seems (so far so good) to have gone away for me thanks to either or both of updating to OBS 31.0.1 and the firmware for the Insta360 link cams to 1.4.5.8.
