When I attempt to record footage from a capture card sometimes the image will freeze and the only way to fix it (temporarily) is to unplug and replug in the capture card. However that fix will only work for a short time. Occasionally I can record for 10-15 minutes (didn't try longer honestly, afraid it will corrupt), other times the issue happens the literal second I hit the record button.
The issue only seems to happen when trying to record, just playing doesn't have any affect.
There is no audio coming through, and if I review the footage it continues to record, just on the frozen frame (no audio in the recording either)
I have reinstalled OBS, removed any other video capture device that might be interfering, tried different USB ports (for powering the card), made sure those USB ports have enough power to them, tried on two different capture cards, and tried various other fixes I found on this forum (like disabling shadowplay).
