Question / Help i9900ks 5GHz or RTX 2080ti for encoding stream

Hey Guys,

my new setup will include a rxt 2080ti and a i9900ks with 5Ghz

I heard with the new nvenc method on obs you can easily reach h.264 encoding medium quality

my question now is, could I handle a cpu encoding on fast? or should I use the new nvenc because its way less stressful for my pc and have similar stream quality and game peformance?

You can try CPU it on Twitch, with a downscale 720 / 900p. GPU will be bad at such a low bitrate

20-series nvenc is about on par with x264's medium preset. You need to keep this in mind when selecting.

You'd have to test for yourself.

Using a preset slower than medium is just a waste of CPU cycles. The improvement is negligible, while the CPU usage skyrockets and prevents the thing you're going to capture (probably some game) from getting enough CPU.
