Hope you are well,
I have been recording on YouTube for a while now but trying to move into the world of Streaming. I'm very new to this side of things and everyone has told me to use OBS over the Game Capture HD software. I was advised that as I am not recording the gameplay while streaming, I shouldn't need a super high spec system, so have got my laptop to use until I get round to building a gaming rig but seem to have problems streaming, getting High CPU and jumpy video.
Laptop Specs
Lenovo Thinkpad X230
8GB Ram
Intel I5-3320M 2.60GHz Processor
Intel HD Graphics 4000
120GB SSD
Broadband Upload 16mbs
This is all running through the Elgato HD60 which records fine and the video looks great. I have read a lot of guides and still feel unsure of where I am going wrong so I was wondering if anyone could offer me a configuration that should work with this setup to stream at 1080p 30fps. I'm not looking for anything fancy with overlays and such at the moment, just to be able to stream live.
I apologise if this sounds like a stupid question, especially from a guy who works in IT Support but OBS hurts my head. any advice that you would offer would be greatly received.
