Hi All

I have been reading countless threads on multiple forums and haven't found a solution as of yet. I am having issues with poor streaming AND recording quality. First things first, my setup and method of capturing.

Gaming PC connected to Asus ROG Swift PG279q via DP. HDMI out of main GPU into 4k60 pro Capture Card which is in my second PC. HDMI from 2nd pc's GPU to a basic 1080p60 monitor.
4k60pro is in EDID Internal, receiving 1440p 144hz. Display settings confirms that both displays are 'duplicated' and at the same res and 144 hz.

Obs Settings:
Stream:
X264
medium
Base canvas 1440p
output:
Tried settings at: 720p60 @ 3500 900p60 @ 5000 1080p60@ 6000
high priority

Recording:
Nvenc or x264
CBR 30-50000 or
CQP 23 High quality
Base canvas 1440p output 1080p

Recordings and streams look pixelated, here are links to youtube and twitch.

Been trying for 3 days now and still no luck.

Obs log https://pastebin.com/ZhE0pE7w

4k60pro is installed in the bottom pcie x16 slot in my Asus b350 f mobo.

Specs:
Main PC i7 7700k gtx1080ti 16gb ram

Stream/Recording PC Ryzen 7 1800x gtx 1050 8gb ram.
40 down 10 up internet speed

Recording look good when recorded straight off my main PC, but not so good when using the capture card through my second PC.

I'm a bit obsessive when it comes to quality and I like to achieve the highest quality possible, any help would be really appreciated. If I've missed any info please let me know and I'll provide.
Thanks

So tbh your streaming quality is insanely good! Can't argue with that.

For recording you could try using CRF (or CFR? I will never get it xD) instead of CBR. Default value is 23 if I remember correclty and that should be good enoug for a test tho.

I have the same opinion as maggi, twitch streams looks really good and youtube has a slight grain which happens after youtube converted your video. I wouldnt really change anything.

Wow, thankyou lol. Maybe it's just me being overly critical, thankyou for your reply :) I've heard people mention CQP? Is that one i should try? Thankyou again!

Thankyou :) I just think I could maybe clean the recordings up a little bit, the likes of jackfrags and westie etc have crystal clear recordings and I'm sure they use OBS themselves, but hey glad you think my vids look okay, nice to get another person's opinion! Thanks again for your reply
