I am currently using 30.2.1. I have not been experiencing crashes but i had to reformat my computer and reinstall windows losing my obs. Now every time I try to do my intro video my obs crashes and has never crashed before. https://obsproject.com/logs/mPSOXwOOiS4bSWIx this is the most current crash log. any ideas what might be causing this. note i was using most recent version of obs but it was doing the same thing so i reverted back to see if that helped and it did not. not this crash happens when streaming and not when streaming. I have also had this crash when just on like a browser viewing screen but mainly just when i am playing my intro video.

If the crash in new OBS (v31.0.1) is the same, then you can look for the answer in this post (audio effect filter, don't ask me why - I see no connection either): https://obsproject.com/forum/threads/obs-crashing-after-update-to-31-0-0.182468/post-667202

Developers almost never looking at old code. It is better if you post the crash log from the v31.0.1 of OBS. More over, even better if this crash report will contain a bit more info. To make it more verbose you may follow next steps (no guaranty that it will work at all, but at least you may try it):
  1. Export the current Scene Collection and Profile from OBS main menu
  2. Download the "OBS-Studio-31.0.1-Windows.zip" from https://github.com/obsproject/obs-studio/releases (under the "Assets" spoiler) and make it portable in different folder. Instruction for portable mode is here (please, read only after the "If it was not clear" words): https://obsproject.com/forum/threads/crash-with-«could-not-find-locale-ini-path»-when-opening-app-settings.82157/post-346499
  3. Download the "windows-deps-qt6-2025-02-04-x64-RelWithDebInfo.zip" from the https://github.com/obsproject/obs-deps/releases (under the "Assets" spoiler) and find and extract the files with the .pdb and .dll extension named qsvgicon (in the "plugins\iconengines" folder), Qt6Core, Qt6Gui, Qt6Widgets (in the "bin" folder). When done - replace the files from the p2 of portable installation in the "bin\64bit\" folder with recently extracted variants of the Qt6Core, Qt6Gui, Qt6Widgets and in the "bin\64bit\iconengines\" with recently extracted variants of the qsvgicon. In total: 4 new files with .pdb extension + 4 replaced (with .dll extension)
  4. Now try to run your portable OBS, import saved earlier (in p1) Scene Collection and Profile and try to reproduce the issue. From the main menu Help of portable OBS look for new crash reports

From the recent crash log:
Code:
OBS 31.0.1 log file
libobs version: 30.2.1
Are you sure that this update was successfully complete? Can you check integrity of the OBS files from the main menu Help?

And, yes, the regular log file from the crashed session may contain some useful info. You can find the log file by time and date in the main menu Help > Log Files > Show Log Files or in the: %APPDATA%\obs-studio\logs folder and attach to your post.

no longer crashing this all came down to a pc hardware issues not letting stuff rung correctly. i had a hotspot issue known on my motherboard. 80mm noctua and some thermal tape fixed me right up. I having issues with internet browsers, obs, and just generally running my games. finally narrowed the issue down.
