Question / Help CPU consumption with Hauppauge

Been trying out the 9.0 build with a Hauppauge HD PVR2 and noticed it consumes astronomical amounts of CPU, ranging from 50-75% normally and totally capping it out when streaming and recording at the same time. Has anyone else had this issue?

For a frame of reference, my processor is an Intel i5 650 running at 3.2 GHz

Unfortunately that CPU (a dual core from 2010) is probably not up to the task of streaming and recording using separate settings at 720p60. Recording what you stream out should have a negligible performance impact.

hey highwang not sure if u know this already but u dont need to have the hauppauge software running with this version of obs just use video capture n it automatically picks up the hauppauge its awesome :D

When I use OBS 0.9.1 to stream my CPU usage from OBS doesn't usually go past like 10%. I also use Hauppauge HD PVR 2.

I'm going to add in support for hardware decoding of it as well, going to switch over to our new decoder code whenever I can get a chance.
