Can't install Move transition

I can't seem to re-install the Move transition, and the plugin author doesn't know Mac well enough to provide guidance.

I installed it once on OBS 28 (on a 2020 Macbook Pro M1) and it worked great. Then I downgraded to the last 27 version to test another plugin that wasn't 28-compatible. But Move disappeared. I tried re-installing with no luck, and re-installed 28 but still no luck.

The installer package THINKS it installed the plugin, and it shows when I view the contents of the obs-studio plugin subfolder's contents, but it's not available as a transition when I try to enable it.

Any suggestions?

I’m having a similar issue, but just after upgrading to 28. I had the Move transition installed just fine under 27, but it didn’t show up when I updated to 28. I deleted and reinstalled the plugin a couple of times, but it still doesn’t show up in OBS. The files are in the proper plugin directory, OBS just doesn’t seem to recognize it.

Really odd. I'm just going to play the waiting game a bit. See if a new version of OBS fixes it or a new/future version of the Move transition.

Move transition works in v28 when it's installed inside the OBS app in the plugins folder.
Maybe it works for you, but not for me. I've tried the plugin in the location it's installed by the package (/[home folder]/Library/Application Support/obs-studio/plugins), the system library (/Library/Application Support/obs-studio/plugins), and now on your suggestion inside the app bundle itself (/Applications/OBS.app/Contents/PlugIns/). None of those locations makes OBS recognize the plugin.

The one provided by the move transition developer is not compatible with M1. I've attached the zip file with a M! compiled version and a screenshot of the OBS.app when showing package contents, where I dropped the plugin

Thanks, but I'm not on Apple Silicon. This is an Intel Mac mini on which the Move Transition plugin was working fine under OBS 27. OP is on an M1, so maybe this will work for them.

For those few who are too lazy to read before updating:

Some plugins are not yet compatible with OBS 28. So if you don't want to do without plugins, you should just wait with the upgrade to 28.

Here is a list which will be updated as soon as they are available for the desired system.

Hi there, thanks for providing this though I was not able to get it working. I've tried the current version of OBS, as well as 28.0 and 28.0.1 and dropped the plugin file into the specified folder. Is there anything else I need to do? Thank you!

Hello everyone,

I have the problem that I installed the plugin in the OBS folder. However, the plugin is not displayed in OBS itself. I have a MacBook Pro 14" 2021 (M1 Pro).

Where are you finding this folder exactly? I can't locate it even with spotlight search. Any assistance is greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

Actually, don't worry about it. Got it working now. I had to restart the computer and then open OBS. Once I did that, it appeared and works just fine. Thanks for your assistance.

Move Transition is not displaying in scene transitions!
I'm having this issue with OBS 30.2.3 running on a iMac M1 Sequoia 15.1. I have downloaded Move 3.1.1 and tried installing both macro-arm64.pkg and macos-universal several times with no luck. Restarting the Mac hasn't helped either. Any ideas?
