Bug Report Can't decode DTS?

When choosing 'Media Source', and selecting a file with DTS audio, the screen just stays black and nothing is playing. Selecting 'Use hardware decoding when available' doesn't change anything. On the other hand it decodes AC3 without problems.

Something you guys know about, and will fix in the future?

Am I the only one on the planet that have tried to stream a media file with DTS sound?

It's very possible. Not may people have tried using OBS Multiplatform for Windows yet, and even fewer have tried using the media source to play back less common formats.

Can you post your log, and maybe an example file for us to test with?

A media file with DTS 5.1 works just fine with the media source, for me.

There are no logs to show, as right off the bat everything stays black in the preview window. I got several movies (to be truthful) that all don't work, all with DTS audio. If it's not the DTS itself or the number of channels that could be the problem, could it be the bitrate?

Show me a screenshot that it works, cuz it doesn't for me! Are there special decoders I need to install or something?

OBS MP is using the integrated ffmpeg for media playback so there shouldn't / isn't any need to install codecs.

Have you tried reinstalling yet?

Yes, just tried, reloaded OBS MP, added the MKV file, still getting the exact same result.

I tried installing ac3filter_2_6_0b.exe, made no changes. Tried installing LAVFilters-0.65-Installer.exe, made no changes. And tried installing FFDShow to no results too. Not sure if MatroskaSplitter.exe is needed (guess it is not), installed or not it makes no difference.

I'm lost. I reinstalled Windows 7 64bits two weeks ago, it's pretty much a clean slate here...

Admin or moderators, got any ideas what I should do? Must I reinstall Windows 7 altogether? (please remember it's only with DTS audio that it doesn't work, everything else works as it should)

I don't know. I downloaded that file and it actually didn't work for me either, and there didn't seem to be anything interesting in the log. I'll see if the person who made the plugin has any ideas.

Small update: when I tried to play back the file in 0.10.1, my logs showed no indication that the file was loading. But in the latest nightly build, I do indeed get indications in the log that the file is being read correctly. However, it is still not playing back. I'm continuing to look into it.

Also worth noting: when I try to play it back in VLC, it plays, but is super glitchy. Playback is not smooth at all. Are we sure the file itself doesn't have an issue?
