Question / Help Call of Duty MW 900p60 x264 Medium Dropped Frames Encoding lag Ryzen 3900x RX5700XT

So the tittle says everything. I am using a brand new Ryzen 3900x with an RX 5700XT and 16GB of DDR4 3200Mhz.

The Stats page show me Approx. 1.5% lost frames on CoD MW and it's definitely not because of the CPU. CPU is like at max 50% ultilized and the game runs butter smooth on my end.

The stream end sometimes suffers from a bit micro stuttering which is not that bad but considering that this CPU is not breaking a sweat to encode I wanna fix this.

Believe it or not, it actually is your CPU load:

Code:
16:33:30.754: Video stopped, number of skipped frames due to encoding lag: 13811/1209108 (1.1%)

Don't go by the indicated CPU usage that OBS displays -- use the windows Task Manager, see how your cores are actually being utilized. You may be running into the issue of actually needing more priority on OBS to account for your game running as well as it is.

Btw, from personal experience with my own 3900x and COD:MW... that game is a complete PITA to get everything balanced.

Well the 50% actually comes from Task manager. OBS says its like 20% so I might use Cpu affinity but how come all the YouTube videos I've seen show no performance hit even on slow?

actually needing more priority on OBS
Just a heads up going into Task Manager > Right Click OBS > Go to Details > obs64.exe > Right Click Set Priority > Above Normal
Fixed the problem for me. Now I can even do Slow with 0 Encoding Lag while gaming!

Great to hear!

Just as a double-check, what is your Process Priority setting set to within OBS when you go to Settings -> Advanced?
