I had it working quite a while back but after a restore I only get a black preview. If I select windows capture and there is, for example, a text file open it will show it. If there is a video it's only black. If I try to capture that it comes out as just green. I've been looking at past posts and some of them talk about going in graphics properties under display properties and selecting obs, but I don't find that. I imagine it's another problem though. If I could get some help on which setting to change it would be much appreciated! Thanks!

By the way, I went to the Nvidea 3d control mentioned in the above sticky but never could find OBS. Not in the programs it already had listed or by using the browse function. Thanks.

Well, by trial and error, I somehow got it going. I'm really not technically up to speed on this program but appreciate it when I can get it recording. I right clicked on the OBS icon on my desktop and selected "run with graphics processor/ integrated graphics" instead of the Nvidea selection. Thankful for those menu items available with right click, I hadn't been aware of them. Cheers.

By the way, yes, VLC remained. Thanks
By the way, something that might save you grief when playing with obs, creating new scenes etc, sometimes obs breaks or you lose all your edits. What I do is to copy the current obs studio folder else where. I just copy the whole folder. This folder is located at : c:/users/your name/appdata/roaming/obs-studio. I created a new folder called obs and copy the obs-studio folder to it, give it a different name. Thus is obs breaks, or won't start, i can replace the current obs-studio with the older one that still works. Just insurance
