After running the Auto-Configuration Wizard, I can no longer stream or record

OBS-Studio had been working for months – if not years – until I decided to rerun the Auto-Configuration Wizard. I don't know what compelled me to do so, but it has been trouble ever since! Unfortunately, I don't have a copy of the previous profile, so I can't go back.

Here is the error that I'm getting…

My laptop is over 10 years old, and the drivers are as up-to-date as they're going to get. So, in that respect, there's not much I can do. Until this morning, this version of OBS-Studio has worked just fine. Because I don't have a backup of the profile, I don't have a way to rollback the configuration, and I am not sophisticated enough to know which settings I should manually change. Here is the corresponding log. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

So, after taking a second look at the Output tab, I managed to change the Output Mode field from Simple to Advanced. On the Advanced page, under the Streaming tab, I opened the drop-down menu of the Video Encoder field and selected "x264". I did not make any changes under the Recording tab.

After a cursory test, everything seems to be working fine! Ultimately, the video encoder option that worked was not available under the Simple settings of the Output Mode page. I had to switch to the Advanced mode settings to find it.

Under simple mode they are listed as hardware (NVENC) or software (x264).
I'm sorry, but I should have been more elaborate in my original post.

By the time I initiated this thread, I had already tried the Hardware (NVENC,H.264) and Software (x264). Neither one of them worked for me. It was only after those failed that I stumbled upon the Advanced setup.
