The plugins is still very robust but provides features that any streamer can make use of, especially those who stream online RPGs with chatboxes (the blur feature is essential).

Xaymar is generally very active on his Discord server, and is always looking to fix issues or improve upon his works.

The new pre-release version does not seem to work in obs version 24.0.3, I cannot find the features of streamFX in the filter, I am using an automatically installed .EXE file

Please update your system to the latest Visual C Runtime. The official Visual C++ 2017 runtime can be downloaded from here: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/help/2977003/the-latest-supported-visual-c-downloads. You need both x86 and x86_64/x64

I mean, it works... but the filter persists through each scene, and I don't want it to do so...

That is not a problem with the plugin. You are describing behavior that OBS has built in, if you want to work around that behavior, please consider learning how to use Scene mirroring or Source Mirrors.

I find the source mirror to be incredibly helpful. I make a central source then mirror it to various scenes with different filters applied.

This plugin is a real miracle. However, blur requires a powerful graphics card. In my case, just turning this effect on with the minimum power loads the card for an additional 5 percent, and each further "unit" of blurriness for an additional percent. The rest is just great. Can't wait for new features!

Great news! 0.5.0 drastically reduced the necessary GPU power for Blur and has even further optimizations that should help out. The new modes Box Linear and Guassian Linear almost halve the required GPU time for blurring on any size.

I made a fresh install of Windows 10 today, i saved appdata and obs but the plugin stopped working.

I figured out that you need Virtual C to run this plugin, if you have the same problem google "All in One Runtimes" or download it from "https://www.sereby.org"

You can also Download each version of Virtual C by yourself from Microsoft.

Good News: From version 0.8.1 and onward, this is no longer needed! The installer automatically detects the missing redistributable and installs it if necessary.

Excellent! Except for that the blur effect sometimes doesn't work. Restarting OBS works for me.
