Question / Help Periodic Saving help?

I'm planning on recording a Minecraft series, but of course since it's Java I get to deal with memory leaks. I already know that the mem leaks cause me to crash either the modpack or my whole computer whenever I play it after a bit, and I never know which it will be. I was hoping to find some format or setting or something that will allow me to record up to the point of crashing, or at least close, and not end up with a corrupted or missing file.

My first thought was maybe some kind of script that tells OBS to save the recoding very minute or so, but I'm not sure how to write scripts and such myself.

If possible, I'd like to be able to save it in one of the formats editable by Adobe Premier (like mp4 or mov), but I guess it's also possible to change formats after everything is saved and done so I'll really take whatever is easiest to do.

Thank you for any and all help or advice you can give!

Record to MKV. You will be able to recover the partial file after a crash.

If you record to MP4, it will all be lost.
